Our governance

At Viparis, governance is structured around two bodies: the Board of Directors and the Executive Board. Our management team is working towards our ambition: to become the world leader in business tourism, serving Paris and its region.

The operating companies of the VIPARIS sites are equally owned by the Paris Ile-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE.

Bernard Michel

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viparis Holding

Chairman of Viparis since 2017, Bernard Michel is a specialist in the banking, insurance and real estate sectors, particularly in the relationship between economic performance, CSR and governance. Elected CCI of Paris Île de France and delegate of the President in charge of fairs, exhibitions and business tourism, he also devotes himself to the development of his company BM conseil. A graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Impôts, this Inspector General of Finance began his career at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. He successively held the positions of Chairman at Gecina, Managing Director of GAN Insurance France, Chairman of Socapi and Banque Régionale de l'Ouest CIC, and Chairman/CEO of Crédit Agricole Immobilier.

Arnaud Burlin

Chief Executive Officer of Viparis

Arnaud Burlin joined Viparis as its Chief Executive Officer on June 1st, 2023. Holding a master’s degree from HEC and a university degree in finance, he has enjoyed an international career in various management positions in the USA, France, and other European countries. Following roles as finance controller at Barfield Corporation and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Arnaud Burlin joined the finance department at McDonald’s in France before moving into operations, becoming Chief Operating Officer, and subsequently being appointed President of McDonald’s in Czechia and Slovakia. He joined Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in 2008, holding various roles during his tenure prior to Viparis, with the most recent being Chief Operating Officer for Central Europe, also in charge of International Leasing.

Audrey Montécatine

HR and CSR Executive Director

Audrey Montécatine is a recognised professional in the field of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She joined Viparis in 2013 as HR and CSR Executive Director. Prior to joining Viparis, she worked for Chronopost for 9 years in a variety of HR-related roles, taking on challenges in labour relations, legal and talent management. At Viparis, Audrey Montécatine oversees a wide range of key areas, from recruitment and payroll to training, social relations and communication. Her role also involves organisational management, risk management, sustainable development and general services.

Christophe Thomas

Sites and Operations Director

Christophe Thomas has been Director of Sites and Operations at Viparis since 2016. He joined Viparis when it was created in 2008, where he held the position of Director of Operations, before also taking charge of the Sites Department, which includes the Security/Safety Department, the Technical and Works Department, and the Logistics and Purchasing Department.

Before joining Viparis, Christophe Thomas spent the first part of his career in the retail sector, where he held various operational positions (Site Director, Regional Director) within three successive groups: Carrefour, Fnac and Go Sport.

Laurent Chiron

Executive Director in charge of Viparis Développement

Laurent Chiron joined Viparis in 2001 as Executive Director in charge of Viparis Développement. The aim of this department is to accelerate Viparis' development and broaden its field of action by enhancing the value of Viparis' expertise through support and consulting, by promoting the emergence of large-scale content and events in the fields of culture, experience, sport and eSport, and by exploring new areas for expansion, both in France and abroad.

Matthieu Buronfosse

Executive Director of the Sales and Marketing Division

Matthieu Buronfosse was named Executive Director of the Sales and Marketing Division on 1 February 2023. A graduate of ESC Montpellier and ESCP, he has spent his career managing and developing portfolios of major national and international accounts in a variety of sectors, including 10 years with COMPASS Group. In 2014, he joined the Lyovel Group as a member of the Executive Board and a shareholder, with responsibility for the Group's development and customer loyalty. Between 2019 and 2021, he will take it in turns to head up the ONET and ELIOR Services Groups' sales departments. Before joining Viparis, he was Director of Operations at Popchef, a foodtech start-up.

Stéphane Schebat

Executive Director in charge of Finance and Investments

On 23 August 2022, Stéphane Schebat joined Viparis as Executive Director in charge of Finance and Investments. Previously Deputy Director of Development at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, she has previously worked in an international environment. Her experience in developing real estate projects, large-scale digital projects, setting up and negotiating joint ventures and all aspects of finance is a great addition to Viparis.

The management company of Viparis Porte de Versailles is Valorexpo, a simplified joint stock company (Société par Actions Simplifiée Unipersonnelle) with capital of €37,000, whose headquarters are in Paris (75016), 7 place du Chancelier Adenauer, registered under number 502 207 186 RCS Paris.

Our commitments to the DGCCRF

  1. 1.

    With a view to enabling the Minister of the Economy to declare the merger of the convention-exhibition activities of the Paris Ile-de-France Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Unibail-Rodamco as not likely to affect competition in the relevant markets, the two partners have proposed the commitments contained in the document below "DGCCRF Commitments Viparis Site", which you can print or download in PDF format below.

    By letter dated November 20, 2014, which you can print or download in PDF format below, the French Competition Authority authorized their revision, in particular adjustments relating to grandfather rights and new trade shows, valid only for the Paris expo Porte de Versailles site and the duration of its modernization work.

Our Code of Ethics

For the attention of Viparis suppliers, the code of ethics explains the values and rules of conduct that the Group wishes to see applied by all in the relationship between employees and the company as well as vis-à-vis third parties.

By contracting with the VIPARIS Group, Business Partners undertake to comply with the VIPARIS code of ethics, in particular the paragraphs dealing with loyalty, integrity and conflicts of interest, ethical business conduct and the treatment of confidential information.

In particular, the code of ethics prohibits any payment or acceptance of illegal sums and requires strict compliance with legal and regulatory provisions.
